2025 SUMMER art camp CLASSES
This summer, dive into a world of creativity and skill-building with our Summer Art Camp Class! Designed for aspiring artists of all levels, this program offers professional art classes where participants can enhance their techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors. Whether you're perfecting your brushstrokes, exploring new mediums, or unleashing your imagination, the camp promises a fun and inspiring experience. It’s the perfect blend of learning and enjoyment, allowing you to grow as an artist while making lasting memories in a vibrant, creative environment.
Soft Pastel Painting - Animal
Week : June 16th - June 20th
Class Time: 9 am-12 pm
Class will be in Studio
In class, students will learn the following:
- Understanding Soft Pastel and Related Materials :
Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of Soft Pastel and other materials commonly used in soft pastel, including blending tools, pastel pencils, and gesso surfaces with different color tones.
- Process of Creating Realistic Animal Paintings:
Students will learn soft pastel techniques, including how to depict animal fur with pastel sticks and pencils, and how to blend colors using pastel blending tools.
Tuition Fee: $380 per week/student ( art materials fee included)
Plein Air Art (Outdoor)-Landscape
Week: June 23rd- June 27th
Class Time: 9 am-12 pm
Class will be outdoor
In class, students will learn the following:
- Composition of Landscape:
Students will study various composition structures applicable to landscape painting.
- Color Theory and Mixing Colors:
Students will delve into color theory, exploring concepts such as hue, value, and chroma, and apply this knowledge to their paintings through color mixing techniques.
- Plein Air Painting:
Students will develop skills in observing and painting outdoors, learning how to effectively capture scenes and subjects in natural light and environments.
Tuition Fee: $350 per week/student (art materials fee included)
*The outdoor class will be at a different location each day. Students must bring a camping chair, and it is suggested they wear a hat and sunscreen.
Oil Painting - Still Life
Weeks: July 7th-July 11th & July 14th-July 18th
for age 10+, who must have fundamental drawing skills
Class Timed: 9 am-12 pm
Class will be in Studio
In class, students will learn:
- Understanding Oil Paints and Related Materials.
Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of oil paints and other materials commonly used in oil painting, including mediums, solvents, and surfaces.
- Process of Creating Realistic Still Life Paintings
- Drawing/Transferring on Canvas: Students will learn techniques for accurately transferring their still life compositions onto canvas, ensuring proper proportions and placement.
- Underpainting (Painting in Monochrome): Students will explore the process of creating an underpainting in monochrome, focusing on values and establishing the foundational structure of the painting.
- Over-painting/Glazing: Students will learn methods for layering colors and applying glazes to add depth, richness, and subtlety to their paintings.
- Final Work Adjustments (Retouching, Scumbling): Students will discover techniques for making final adjustments to their paintings, including retouching areas that may need refinement and using scumbling to enhance texture and details.
Tuition Fee: $600 / 2 weeks per student
*For the oil painting class, students are required to bring all necessary materials.
The teacher will provide a list of materials that parents can assist in preparing. Students are encouraged to leave their materials in the studio each day until the final class session. Students must clean up their materials at the end of each day's class. Additionally, students are responsible for any damage to or loss of their materials.
Pottery Clay
Week: July 21st - July 25th
Class Time: 9 am - 12 pm
Class will be in Studio
In class, students will learn the following:
- Handbuilding Techniques of Pottery Making:
Students will explore three fundamental methods – Pinching, Coiling, and Slab building – to craft pottery objects from clay, gaining practical experience in these techniques.
- Basic Sculpting Techniques:
Students will acquire proficiency in using various sculpting tools, learning how to accurately measure proportions for animal sculptures, and effectively join different parts together.
